Sunday Market
The Sunday Market commences every Saturday afternoon and winds down by noon on Sunday. It is renowned for the Bidayuh ladies who sell jungle produce. Very much a local market, where few tourists can be spotted, the emphasis here is on fresh food of every kind. Not to miss out the variety of pets such as live fishes, guinea pigs, hamsters and many more. The Sunday Market offers a whole range of snacks and delicacies and that is why those who end up here should not miss the Apam Balek, which is a pancake with nuts and margarine - it's very filling and absolutely delicious.

Main Bazaar
The Main Bazaar is located at the Kuching Waterfront and is made out of two storey shophouses. The building is housed on one of the oldest streets in Kuching, dating back to the year 1864. Visitors will be able to get rare finds and exquisite antiques in all of the shops especially if they make their way around the top storey of the shops where bizarre treasures await. After shopping, take a walk down the esplanade or waterfront to enjoy the breeze and boats flowing up and down the Sarawak River.

The Spring
The Spring is Kuching's largest and first real lifestyle shopping mall. Shiny and new (it opened in January 2008) it sells international brands such as Mango, Esprit, Charles & Keith, Padini, Starbucks and Quiksilver.
Spread over two floors and a basement, the mall has a Factory Outlet Store (FOS) that sells rejected yet good quality clothes. There is also a Parkson department store and supermarket and Ta Kiong, which sells imported goods. For book lovers, there's MPH, the bookstore.

Wisma Saberkas
Wisma Saberkas is a round tower on the outskirts of Kuching (about 15 minutes from the waterfront). It has shops that sell a huge variety of hi-tech products for mobile phones and computers.

Opened since November 1985, Sarawak Plaza has now been refurbished. It is more stylish and houses a variety of shops. The complex opens from 10.30am to 9.30pm daily and currently has about 40 shops within the building ranging from sportswear, eateries, bookstores, personal care and boutiques.

India Street Pedestrian Mall
India Street got its name because of the Indian shops available throughout the whole stretch. It was once called Kling Street in the 1850s but Charles Brooke changed its name to India Street in the year 1928. In 1992, the streets were blocked because of traffic congestion and then was converted into a pedestrian mall. These Indian shops specialize in selling spices, clothing, textiles and souvenirs. You will also be able to get a custom-made tailor made suit if you have the time.The Indian culture here is preserved and have not changed much throughout the years.

Famous for selling birds nests and Sarawak Pepper, this specialty shop also sells local handicraft, local made curry and laksa paste, pepper sweets, Chinese herbs, souvenirs and local made t-shirts.

ARTrageously Ramsay Ong
Inspired by artists in Hawaii and Australia, Kuching born and bred Ramsay Ong started the unique art of bark cloth painting and batik in the late seventies. Today, he owns an exhibit showing all of his batik designs. Visitors will be able to purchase some of the designs he has for sale.
